링쿠 / LINKQU
linkqu Privacy Policy
linkqu ("the App") respects your privacy and complies with applicable laws. This policy explains what information the App processes and how.
1. Operator & Contact
- Operator: JJ Company (제이제이컴퍼니)
- Privacy officer: Jinjoon Kim (김진준)
- Contact: support@jjworks.dev
2. No Account Required
Every feature of the App is available without signing up or logging in, and the App does not collect personally identifying information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
You may optionally sign in with a Google or Apple account under Settings → Backup & Restore. That sign-in is used solely for the backup feature and is not required for any other part of the App.
3. Information Stored Only on Your Device
The following is stored only on your device, is never transmitted to the operator's servers, and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
- Bookmarks, browsing history, recent searches
- The page you were reading and your resume position
- Your app-lock PIN (stored as a hash, not the PIN itself) and biometric preference
- Ad-blocking and site-recognition rule caches, and app settings
Cookies and local storage created by web pages are managed by the operating system's web view; the App neither collects them separately nor sends them to any server.
4. Information Sent to Our Servers
The App sends the following to the operator's server (api.utza.kr).
- Once on install or update — a random device identifier generated by the App (unrelated to your account or advertising identifier), the push notification token, the app version, device information (platform, OS version, manufacturer, model), language, country, time zone, screen size, and notification permission status
- Titles added to your library — site domain, title identifier, episode number, and subscription status
- Resume reading — for content opened on sites the App supports: that page's address (URL), title, description, and representative image
⚠️ The resume-reading data above is sent only for content pages on sites the App recognizes. Visits to any other web page are stored on your device only and are not sent to our servers.
5. When You Use Backup
When you run a backup, the data stored on your device (bookmarks, browsing history, recent searches, library, and so on) is bundled into a single file and uploaded to an area reserved for your account in Google Firebase Storage. The email address of the signed-in account is recorded with the uploaded file as an identifier.
Backups run only when you start them, and you can delete your backup and your linked account from within the App at any time.
6. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following Google services, which collect and process certain information.
| Service | Information collected | Purpose | Third party |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firebase Analytics | Usage events such as screen transitions, approximate location (derived from IP), device and installation identifiers | Usage analysis and improvement | |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging | Push notification token | Sending notifications | |
| Firebase Remote Config | Delivery of remote configuration values; device, language, and region information | Remote configuration (update notices, ad display control) | |
| Firebase Authentication / Storage | Signed-in account identifier and email address, backup file | Backup and restore (only if you choose to use it) | |
| Google AdMob | Advertising identifier, device information, approximate location | Ad serving | Google/AdMob |
Data handling by these services is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Google's partner policies.
7. Advertising & Tracking Consent
The App shows ads on its feed, home, and shopping screens. The App does not insert ads into the screen where you view web pages (any ads on those pages belong to the website itself).
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and other applicable regions, a consent dialog is shown on first launch via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP).
On iOS the App requests App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. If you allow it, personalized ads may be served using the advertising identifier (IDFA); if you do not, ads are non-personalized. You can change this choice anytime under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device.
8. Permissions the App Requests
Each permission below is requested only when you use the corresponding feature. Declining it does not affect the rest of the App.
- Camera and microphone — to pass through requests made by a web page
- Location — to pass through a web page's request for your current location (the App does not store your location or send it to our servers)
- Photos — to save images to your album (the App does not read your album)
- Notifications — to receive push notifications
- Biometrics — to unlock the app lock
9. Your Choices
- You can delete your browsing history and recent searches within the App.
- You can skip the backup feature entirely, or delete an existing backup and its linked account from within the App.
- You can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad personalization in your device settings.
- You can revoke notification, camera, microphone, and location permissions at any time in your device settings.
For step-by-step instructions on requesting deletion of your account and data, see Account & Data Deletion Request (Korean).
10. Retention & Deletion
Information stored on your device is deleted when you uninstall the App. Information sent to our servers is retained for as long as it is needed to provide the corresponding feature, and is destroyed without delay once you delete your backup or your account.
Retention and use periods for information collected through Google Firebase and AdMob follow Google's policies.
11. Children's Privacy
The App is a web browser and is not aimed at any particular age group; availability follows the age rating assigned by each app store. The operator does not collect personal information from children specifically, and because there is no sign-up, the App does not collect age information.
Children under 14 should use the App with the consent and guidance of a legal guardian. Because the App is a browser that can open any website, guardians are encouraged to also use the device's screen-time and content-restriction features.
12. Data Security & Changes to This Policy
Data stored on your device is protected by the operating system's app sandbox, and the app-lock PIN is kept as a hash in encrypted storage. Communication with our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
We may update this policy to reflect legal or service changes, and will post updates on this page.
